The Mantra

SEEING, FREEING and LEADING – CHANGE TO COMBATTING HOMELESSNESS

Our Mission

Develop permanent, affordable housing and provide  supportive services for veterans who are homeless or at  imminent risk of homelessness.

Our Purpose

We are committed to bringing affordable housing for  homeless veterans to the rural area of Pitt County, NC. This  housing will include accommodations for persons with disabilities. The supportive services needed for our residents  will be provided to ensure we are not just building housing  but instead giving those who volunteered to serve our country  a place to call home.

"There is no reason someone who has fought for their country should be homeless or jobless."
-Chris Kyle

About Us

Since 2004, our goal has been to improve the lives of homeless populations.  We began in Delaware with transitional housing and relocated to North Carolina, and now providing single permanent affordable housing.

Why Choose Us

Outreach

We engage with the community to support Veterans who are facing homelessness or its effects, such as hunger and the lack of necessities.

Support Groups

We provide support groups and workshops that teach life skills, offer peer-supportive services, and discuss housing options, as well as how to escape and seek help. Resource centers will be accessible to meet the needs of individuals, families, and the community.

Resources

The programs offered by Spiritual Awakening Ministries Inc. are genuinely life-changing, helping countless individuals regain their footing and start anew. We act as a referral agency for resources available through the Veterans Administration and other organizations.

Homeless Housing

Housing construction will take place in Pitt County, North Carolina. We have a history of providing housing, life skills training, counseling, and coaching to these populations, enabling them to become productive members of society. We collaborate with the Mid-East Regional Housing Authority, Greenville Housing Urban Development, and the Veterans Administration in Raleigh, NC (HUD-VASH).

Outreach

We go into the community to reach those who are experiencing homelessness and its symptoms.
